I am also planning on evaluating KMM - but do you know that Xamarin has already been doing the exact same thing for ages, along with targeting desktop as well. Its new version, which Microsoft has renamed MAUI, is taking this even further. The bonus is also that because the code is all C# you can also share it with your web applications as well. To me that is best of best solution when it comes to code sharing.
